Earlier this week, I shared with you 45 prompts to help you keep a travel journal and write about your trip. What good are writing prompts if you don’t have a beautiful travel journal to record your thoughts in?!
Below are my favourite journals (From $10 to $60)…and if I ever get passed the embarrassment of the number of travel journals that I own, I’ll pile them up and take a photo. Not only do I love writing in them myself but I love giving them away as gifts as people are always excited to receive beautiful or unusual journals.
- Map Journal by VerbenaMorena
This is a beautiful cotton wrapped journal. The way it unfolds just makes me feel like I’ve got something very special to write down my thoughts. You can customize the journal by adding your initials (free!) and choosing the coloured paper. I personally love the “aged by coffee” paper style.
2. Travel Journals by FreeRangeBookbinding
No adventure is complete without something to record it. I am a travel journal addict and own far too many of them because I just can’t resist a beautiful or unique journal. These 100% handmade, custom travel journals include space for photos and writing, plus pockets and envelopes for extra mementos (because I don’t have the heart to throw out any kind of stub), to fully document your amazing adventure. You can even customize the map or add a travel quote to really make it your own.
This journal comes with prompts on each page. It works well to guide you through writing a travel journal, especially if it’s the first time you’re trying it out. It has lots of prompts and ideas to get your writing flowing.
This journal has no prompts and is just a series of blank pages waiting for you to fill them with your thoughts! I love the cover with all its inspiration words like “adventure beckons” and “explore dreams”.
5. The Mountains Are Calling Journal by HartPapery
Because of its cover theme, I use this journal for a specific purpose: I chronicle all the mountains/peaks/hikes I have gone to in this journal.
6. Leather Travel Journal by Lapaperie
I love this journal, especially how thick/chunky it looks. The leather is a beautiful dark distressed brown cowhide. A dark brown cord wraps around the journal to keep it closed. The cover flap’s edge has been embellished with a burning tool to create a unique pattern.
7. Fire-branded Leather Journal by Portland Leather
This journal is customized to your tastes. You can pick the shade of leather, the button (I love the wooden buttons), the clasp, the quote/image on the cover, brand your initials, etc. It’s a great way to make the journal really you and it’s on sale right now for 50% off. (Three guesses as to who just ordered another one…)
No excuses! Pick out a journal, read the writing prompts, and start recording your trip. 🙂
